Watch now: Benalla Station’s new pedestrian underpass craned into place

The final pieces of Benalla Station’s new safer and accessible pedestrian underpass have been craned into place, marking another milestone for Inland Rail works in Victoria.

A 750-tonne crane was used to install the 11 concrete sections on the Mackellar Street side of the station, completing the full length of the pedestrian underpass.

The rail line has been reinstated on top of the new pedestrian underpass, and works will now continue to construct the ramps, stairs and lift shafts.

The new 38-metre station underpass will be light and bright at about 2.6m high and 5m wide.
