Inland Rail construction partner John Holland is modifying the station precinct in Benalla.

Benalla Station carpark and bus changes
Timing: Current
Inland Rail is undertaking works to relocate the rail line and upgrade Benalla Station Precinct.
Passenger train services will not stop at Benalla Station. Coaches will replace all passenger services until the new platform and temporary V/Line ticketing and carpark open on the Railway Place side of the station on 31 August 2026.
The station carpark and access road will be closed, with designated accessible and on-street public parking available along Carrier Street.
The V/Line bus drop-off and pick-up areas will be relocated to Mackellar Street.
Pedestrian access to the station will be maintained.
Passengers will still be able to purchase tickets at Benalla Station.
Please allow additional time to purchase tickets and access the V/Line bus areas on Mackellar Street.

Benalla Station access and carpark changes
Timing: From 31 August 2026
Inland Rail is undertaking works to upgrade Benalla Station Precinct.
During these works, there will be changes to the station access.
From 31 August until the Benalla Station reopens at the end of the year, temporary facilities will be in place from the Railway Place side of the station.
What to expect:
- passenger trains using the new platform on the Railway Place side of the station
- temporary V/Line ticketing, car park and coach facilities off Railway Place
- the new platform will be accessible through the new pedestrian underpass via ramps and stairs, off Railway Place
- the station building and existing platform off Mackellar Street will be closed
- pedestrian access across the rail line is via Nunn Street level crossing.
