Inland Rail’s construction partner John Holland is undertaking works in Wandong that will require traffic changes.

We thank you for your patience while we carry out these works.

Wandong traffic changes

Timing: current to mid-July 2026

We’ve replaced the Broadford-Wandong Road bridge with a new higher structure to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.

In Wandong, traffic changes are in place.

Here is what to expect:

  • periods of short-term temporary single-lane shuttle flow on Epping Kilmore Road
  • long-term temporary single-lane shuttle flow on Broadford-Wandong Road
  • vehicles use the new Broadford-Wandong Road bridge
  • Rail Street closed with a detour via Heathcote Junction.

Reduced speeds and traffic management will be in place to support safe traffic movement.

Please check the works notices page to find out about current works taking place in Wandong.

  • From Tuesday 21 July to Saturday 25 July.

These closures will be staged and will not occur at the same time. Detours will be in place, please allow an additional 15-20 minutes travel time.
