Traffic volume assessment, Benalla, 15 October – 31 October, 2024
Temporary traffic counters and cameras will be installed to assess traffic volumes in Benalla.
Work being done
Cameras and road counters will be used to determine the frequency of vehicles passing through the intersections of Mackellar Street and Carrier, Nixon and Smythe streets.
The information captured will be used to inform traffic management plans during construction to help minimise impacts and disruptions.

What can I expect?
- 24-hour monitoring of traffic movements between 15-31 October
- Workers using handheld equipment to install and remove counters and cameras.
Machinery used
Support vehicles, workers using hand tools and survey equipment.
How we’re managing impacts
All footage captured by cameras is securely stored until the data is retrieved. Footage will only be used to understand the number of traffic movements at each location.
Cancellation of works
Works can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled.
