Overnight ground investigations & Anderson Street bridge closure, Euroa, 16-21 February 2025
Specialist contractors will undertake investigations to determine underground conditions at various locations on and around the Anderson Street bridge and within the Euroa railway station precinct. These investigations are required to assist with finalising designs for the construction of the new road underpass.
Work being done
Activities will include:
Borehole drilling using a small truck mounted drill rig to perform geotechnical testing at various points along the Anderson Street bridge and within the station precinct. Once investigations are complete at each location the hole will be filled.
What can I expect?
- Anderson Street bridge will be closed to traffic between 8pm and 6am on Sunday 16 February to Friday 21 February, and will re-open from 6am Friday 21 February
- During the closure period, traffic will detour via Brock Street, the Campbell Street level crossing and Birkett Street
- Traffic management where investigations are occurring. Please observe all traffic management instructions and signage
- Nearby residents may hear some noise during these activities.
Machinery used
Small truck mounted drill rig, support vehicles, workers using hand tools and survey equipment, traffic management equipment and signage.
How we're managing impacts
- Detour signage and Variable Message Signs (VMS boards) to assist with traffic management during the road closure
- Investigations completed overnight when traffic is reduced
- Traffic movements out of the train station will be accommodated
- Access to private properties will not be impacted.
Cancellation of works
Works can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled. Signage on site will advise of any changes.
