Wangaratta Station works and temporary overnight closure of Green Street bridge, February to mid-March 2025
McConnell Dowell will continue work around Wangaratta Station precinct and Green Street bridge between February and mid-March 2025, which will require temporary overnight closures of the bridge.
Work being done
Wangaratta activities:
- Station precinct landscaping
- Lift shaft and platform works.
Green Street bridge activities:
- Finishing works including installing safety screening, handrails, anti-graffiti paint and street lighting.
What can I expect?
- Construction activity between 6am-7pm Monday to Sunday (7 days) at both locations
- Green Street bridge will be temporarily closed from 8pm – 5am over multiple nights from late February to early March. Refer to traffic management signs near the bridge for closure dates.
- Screen installations at Green Street bridge will be noisy at night
- Construction machinery and equipment, trucks and other vehicles will access both work sites
- Ground excavation in various locations
- Approved vegetation removal within the project area.
Machinery used
Heavy and light vehicles including concrete pump trucks, trucks, cranes, dump trucks, loaders, excavators and rollers, power drills will be used within the work areas.
How we're managing impacts
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians
- Environmental controls in place, including live monitoring of noise, dust and vibration.
