Tumba Road level crossing upgrade

Our contractor Trans4m Rail will undertake level crossing and drainage upgrade works near Tumba Road, north of Croppa Creek, from Friday 7 January 2022.

Work being done

Works will include installing new drainage structures and upgrades at level crossing 920.

To facilitate the works, a temporary gravel access road will be constructed to divert traffic, including road trains, around the existing level crossing.

Motorists are urged to follow changing traffic conditions on site, including speed zone reductions and directional traffic signage.

What can I expect

  • Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site
  • Construction machinery and equipment operating on site adjacent to live traffic along Pumba road
  • Delivery of materials and equipment to site
  • Some of these works will be noisy and mitigation measures will be in place
  • Some minor traffic delays are expected during work hours.

How we’re managing impacts

  • Traffic controls will be in place, where required, including Variable Message Signage (VMS) boards
