Wyndham Avenue site establishment works
Martinus Rail plans to commence site establishment works at Wyndham Avenue in Forbes from 4 December 2023 until 28 February 2024.
Work being done
- Deliveries to site including portable buildings and equipment
- Utilities investigations involving potholing
- Geotechnical investigations
- Environmental control installation
- Earthworks for the site establishment including clearing and grubbing and topsoil stripping
What can I expect?
- Heavy vehicles will commence delivering materials and equipment to site.
- Some of these works will be noisy. You may hear truck engines and engine noise from machines.
- Site investigation work may include potholing on adjacent streets to identify utilities.
- Use of non-tonal reversing alarms on all equipment and turning off equipment when not in use.
- Instructing workers to keep noise to a minimum and being respectful of our neighbours.
Vehicle movements
- During the works, vehicle movements will be to and from the site as well as on-site to facilitate minor earthworks for site establishment.
- Traffic controllers will be available to direct traffic to and from site where needed.
Machinery used
Equipment used for the site establishment works includes, but is not limited to, hand tools including power saws, excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, truck and dogs, back hoes, cranes, heavy and light vehicles, generators, lighting towers and other minor plant.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic controls will be in place, where required.
- Water carts will be on-site to wet down areas to assist in managing dust.
- Works programmed to best minimise noise impacts. We will aim to minimise noise from the works.
- Unfortunately, some construction activities are inherently noisy which cannot be avoided. Properties near the construction site can expect to hear:
- excavation (activity involving the removal of existing surfaces such as rock, soil, pavement, and other substances
- movements of heavy vehicles
- loading, unloading or moving equipment and construction materials
- Works will be monitored to ensure compliance with Project Approval Conditions.
