Traffic cameras helping to plan ahead for construction impacts

Small cameras have begun to pop up across Wandong, Broadford and Euroa in an effort to understand volume, timings, and movement of traffic and pedestrians ahead of upcoming construction on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 project.

We’ve heard the community want us to minimise the potential impact to traffic during upcoming works across multiple sites by our construction partner, John Holland.

These small cameras, placed strategically at major intersections and traffic routes, capture data that will help inform traffic management plans during construction and help minimise impacts and disruptions.

It will also ensure the final design is responsive to community and road user needs.

The cameras have been installed in Euroa, Broadford and Wandong and will be in place until early August.

Additional cameras will be installed at Benalla later this year.

All footage captured by these cameras is securely stored until the data has been retrieved. Footage will only be used to understand the number of movements through intersections at each location.
