Ballast and soil storage, Frank Hayes Drv, Wangaratta, 7-13 March 2024
Inland Rail will work between 12am Thursday morning 7 March and 6pm Wednesday 13 March constructing Inland Rail in Wangaratta.
Work being done
Ballast rock and clean fill soil is being stored at the McConnell Dowell yard on Frank Hayes Drive, Wangaratta.
During the round-the-clock works occurring at Wangaratta, rock and soil will be delivered to and from the station precinct to a storage area on Frank Hayes Drive.
Trucks and loaders will work within the compound to load and unload materials.
What can I expect?
- Round-the-clock works between 12am Thursday 7 March and 6pm Wednesday 13 March
- Noise from construction machinery and equipment operating onsite, including during night hours
- Significant numbers of trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the work sites
- Use of light towers during night work. These will be directed away from residential properties.
Machinery used
Heavy and light vehicles including trucks, dump trucks and loaders will be used within the work areas.
How we’re managing impacts
- Reducing vehicles required onsite and construction traffic near the storage area.
- Environmental controls will be in place
- Directing light towers away from residential properties.
