Work being done

Preparation activities from the 10-13 September on the southern side of the rail corridor at Jamieson Street will include:

  • Excavating, backfilling, and leveling the ground next to the rail corridor at the rail access point on Jamieson Street (South)
  • The use of a non-destructive digging (NDD) truck may be required. A NDD truck uses pressurised water to excavate the ground without causing damage to any existing underground services.
  • While undertaking preparation and round-the-clock works, the existing hazard marker signs will be removed and will be reinstated after activity within the rail corridor is complete.

Previously notified works between 30 August and late September include:

  • Surveying the Short Street bridge and the railway track at multiple locations within the rail corridor
  • Locating and mapping underground services using NDD
  • Borehole drilling using a small truck mounted drill rig to take soil samples for testing and assessment. Once the works are complete at each location the hole will be filled.
