Launch of the sustainability mentoring program
The Inland Rail Skills Academy and The Ecoefficiency Group (TEG) are partnering to provide education on how to develop and improve sustainability policies and actions for small to medium businesses.

We are pleased to offer a free hour-long mentoring session on improving sustainability for eligible businesses. The mentoring session follows on from our three-part business sustainability webinar series.
Benefits of improving your business’s sustainability include:
- reducing energy, water, materials and waste to lower operational costs
- building your reputation and profile through environmental and sustainability credentials
- helping your clients deliver on their sustainability priorities such as project Infrastructure Sustainability ratings
- driving industry change through innovation and higher performing products and services.
The mentoring sessions are suitable for businesses kicking off their sustainability journey, as well as those with established sustainability programs.
Lack Group, a family owned and operated Indigenous business, that provides traffic management services for Inland Rail in north-western NSW, took advantage of the sustainability education on offer from the Inland Rail Skills Academy.
The Australia-wide business already has numerous sustainability initiatives in place, including a new solar system at their Gold Coast transportation and innovation headquarters.
“The mentoring session gave us an opportunity to obtain an outside view of our sustainability initiatives from a specialist, said Executive General Manager, David Lewin.
“We were able to expand on and question some ideas and ideals on future goals and initiatives,” he said.
Wagga Wagga-based oil producer, Riverina Oils, which is striving to be a leader in the sustainability space, found the mentoring session valuable.
“Having the opportunity to discuss our current efforts and how best to continue the development of our sustainability program with an experienced professional was extremely insightful,” said Riverina Oils WHS & HR Manager, Daniel Challis.
