No. 89: Work Extended On Nanardine Lane, Parkes
We are upgrading level crossings between Parkes and Narromine as part of our work to build Inland Rail.
While we do this, we need to temporarily close public roads.
Nanardine Lane, Parkes, is currently closed. The closure will be extended to complete the new rail segment.
Nanardine Lane will now remain closed until the end of April 2020.

Nanardine Lane between Back Trundle Road and Wyatts Lane, Parkes
What we’re doing
- Removing existing rail and sleepers
- Installing drainage and culverts
- Building road formations
- Constructing level crossing (concrete treatment)
- Installing new gravel (ballast), laying new sleepers and rail, and tamping (adjusting) rail into place
- Welding rail into place
- Installing fences and permanent signage
What to expect
- Traffic management with detour signage will be in place to assist those impacted
- During the work there will be heavy vehicles travelling to and from the work sites
- Access to private properties will be maintained
