Seymour-Avenel Road bridge around-the-clock works on 9-11 March 2024
Inland Rail will demolish the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge during a track possession between 6am Saturday, 9 March and 6pm Monday, 11 March.
Work being done
McConnell Dowell will remove the Seymour-Avenel Road bridge, including the bridge deck, central bridge pier and abutments.
Trains will not be running during the round-the-clock works. For changes to passenger services, visit vline.com.au.
What can I expect
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site, may cause minor traffic delays
- Noise from construction machinery and equipment operating onsite
- Approved vegetation removal within the project area
- Delivery of materials and equipment
- Business and local traffic access to Granville Drive will be maintained
- Use of generators and light towers during night works.
Machinery used
Heavy and light vehicles including trucks, cranes, loaders, excavators and rollers will be used within the works area.
How we’re managing impacts
- Water carts will be onsite to wet down areas to assist in managing dust
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users where required
- Environmental controls will be in place
- Directing light towers away from residential properties.
