September 12, 2022
- Details: Thursday 1 September 2022, between 6PM – 8pm at The Seymour Club, 1 Elizabeth Street, Seymour VIC 3660
The preferred contractor for the first tranche of Inland Rail works in Victoria, McConnell Dowell, will attend the session hosted by the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC).
ARTC Inland Rail is providing new opportunities for local businesses to engage with the Inland Rail program as they progress towards construction.
The Meet the Preferred Contractor events are intended to ensure local and Indigenous businesses understand about the opportunities available with the project.
ARTC has invited local businesses who are keen to be involved in Inland Rail to join us at this information and networking event, to hear from our preferred contractor McConnell Dowell, and meet with them to learn about the types of goods and services that will be required.
ARTC’s Victoria and South Australia Projects General Manager Ed Walker said:
“There has been a high level of interest in the event, but we have spaces available, so businesses still have an opportunity to register their interest in attending the free event on Thursday night.
“Anyone interested in attending can register their interest.
“Inland Rail is being predominantly delivered in regional Australia, meaning there is a prime opportunity for regional Australia to reap the immediate benefits that come with construction.
“The relationships we establish with communities and businesses now will also support regions to prepare for the long-term economic opportunities that come with connectivity to this fast, efficient and cost-competitive freight transport.
“We are incredibly mindful of how sizable investment can reshape regional economies in a short period of time and our focus is on ensuring benefits flow directly to the communities on the Inland Rail alignment,” said Mr Walker.
