Wangaratta’s new western platform opens

Wangaratta’s new western platform has opened, with passenger trains now using the new facilities.

The new platform was installed as part of Inland Rail’s works at the Wangaratta Station Precinct to enable double-stacked freight trains to use the line.

Susan De Silva and Jacob King were among the first to use the new platform last month. Community feedback has been positive.

“The facilities are just fantastic and it’s just such a great thing for Wangaratta,” Susan said.

The platform is accessible via a new pedestrian underpass with lifts, ramps and stairs.
