Watch now: Tallarook track lowering works

Watch how we lowered the rail tracks under the Hume Freeway at Tallarook.

In April and May when trains weren’t running, our construction partner John Holland lowered the rail track by about two metres at the lowest point under the Hume Freeway bridge.

Lowering works extended about 1.4km along the rail corridor.

Trucks worked around the clock, moving about 77,500 tonnes of material and ballast.

These works provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains as part of Inland Rail’s Beveridge to Albury section.
