Marchbanks Road bridge single-lane shuttle flow

The new Marchbanks Road bridge is open with single-lane shuttle flow traffic, while we complete bridge works.

Marchbanks Road bridge closure
Timing: Late November
We’ve replaced the Marchbanks Road bridge with a new higher structure to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.
As we complete our works, temporary bridge closures will be required.
Please follow all signage and drive safely during this time.

Hamilton Street bridge
Timing: Current
We’ve replaced the Hamilton Street bridge with a new higher structure and lowered the rail tracks to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.
As we complete our works, there will be ongoing changes to traffic conditions.
These include the temporary short-term closure of Hamilton Street bridge between:
- 7am-7pm Thursday 5 November
- 7am-7pm Friday 6 November
A vehicle detour will be in place.
Pedestrian access is temporarily via Broadford Station.

Short Street bridge
Timing: Current
We’ve replaced the Short Street bridge with a new higher structure and lowered the rail tracks to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.
As we complete our works, there will be ongoing changes to traffic conditions.
These include the temporary short-term closure of Short Street bridge between:
- 7pm Friday 6 November and 7pm Saturday 7 November
- 7am and 7pm Sunday 8 November
Burges Lane detour will be temporarily reinstated during these closures.
A detour will be in place.
