Marchbanks Road bridge closure
Timing: 16 August to mid-October
We’re replacing the Marchbanks Road bridge with a new higher structure to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.
During this time, the Marchbanks Road bridge will be closed with a detour in place via the Hume Freeway Clonbinane interchange.
Refer to electronic signage for up-to-date traffic changes and road closure details. Follow all detour signage and traffic management.
Allow an additional 15-20 minutes’ travel time when using detours.

Hamilton Street bridge

We’ve replaced the Hamilton Street bridge with a new higher structure and lowered the rail tracks to provide sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains.
As we complete our works, there will be ongoing changes to traffic conditions.
