Timing: 21 – 25 January, 8pm – 5am
The Short Street bridge will be closed overnight while we complete asphalting and roadworks.
What to expect?

- Single land shuttle flow over the Short Street bridge all other times

Hamilton Street bridge
Timing: Current
To increase the clearance under the Hamilton Street bridge we’re replacing the bridge with a new higher structure and lowering the rail tracks to support double-stacked freight trains. As we construct the new Hamilton Street bridge and update connecting roads, traffic conditions around the worksite will change. Reduced speeds and traffic management will be in place. Please allow extra travel time and follow all directions. Stay alert. Look and listen for trains.
Road and pedestrian changes
- To access the area needed to construct the new roundabout, Hamilton Street between Ferguson and Hawdon streets will be closed to traffic with a detour via Ferguson Street (west), Pinniger, Hawdon streets. Residential access will be maintained along Hamilton Street and Ferguson Street (east).
- To reduce congestion along High Street, through traffic from Hamilton Street will continue to be closed at the High and Hamilton streets intersection.
- from High Street over the bridge will be via left turn from the High Street service lane
- from Hamilton Street bridge to High Street via High Street service lane
- To keep pedestrians safe during bridge works the pedestrian detour will remain available via the Broadford train station.

- To support traffic flow and reduce congestion, a road closure will be in place at Sutherland Street with a detour via Jamieson and High streets.
- A road closure to support traffic flow will be in place at Rupert Street (eastern side) with a detour via Lorine Parade.
- A road closure to support traffic flow will be in place at Rupert Street (western side) with a detour via Burges Lane, Cameron Parade and Mia Mia Road.
