Investigations, site facilities preparation, Marchbanks Road, Broadford, 7 January to 28 February 2025
Works are continuing around Broadford and within the rail corridor during 2025.
Work being done
Activities will include:
Investigation works
- Surveying the railway track, road and pavement levels at multiple locations
- Investigating and cleaning out drainage pits at multiple drainage locations
- Locating and mapping underground services using non-destructive digging (NDD).
Preparation for establishment of project worksite
- Project worksite, where worker facilities, plant and material will be located will be established on land at 231 High Street, Broadford
- In preparation, there will be:
- vegetation clearing including soil sampling
- hardstands installed, concrete slabs poured, boundary fences and concrete barriers erected, access roads created, portable offices installed and environmental controls set up
- Generators will be used until a power supply is connected to the site in early 2025.
What can I expect?
- Works 7am-6pm Monday to Friday and 7am-1pm Saturday
- Traffic management will be required in some locations where works are occurring close to roads. Please observe all traffic management instructions and signage
- There will be additional truck movements to and from the site during these works
- Reduced speed limits of 40km/h near works
- Workers using machinery, equipment, hand tools and service vehicles operating at each site
- Nearby residents may hear some noise during this time and can expect some additional construction workers and vehicles in the area.
Machinery used
NDD truck, cranes, excavators, trucks, earthmoving plant, roller, support vehicles, workers using hand tools and survey equipment, traffic management equipment and signage.
How we're managing impacts
- Traffic management and reduced road speeds
- Access to private properties will be maintained.
Cancellation of works
Works can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled.
