Water mains relocation works, Wangaratta Station, 8-29 February 2024
Water mains relocation works are being undertaken as part of the Wangaratta Station upgrade. North East Water will notify residents of any water outages occurring during these works.
Work being done
Works include installing and connecting underground water mains to existing services in Gray Street and Docker Street, close to the railway precinct.
Ground excavation will occur between the station precinct and the footpath of Docker Street and across a section of Gray Street. Traffic management will be in place which may result in some delays.
North East Water will notify residents of any water outages occurring during these works.
What can I expect?
- Approved vegetation removal within the project area
- A section of footpath on the station side of Docker Street will be closed, with a pedestrian detour in place during the works
- Traffic management and reduced speeds, may cause delays
- Ground excavations in various locations
- Trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site
- Noise from construction machinery and equipment operating onsite.
Machinery used
Heavy and light vehicles including trucks, excavators, asphalt cutters, non-destructive digging trucks and compaction rollers will be used within the work areas.
How we’re managing impacts
- Traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all road users and pedestrians, where required
- Reducing vehicles required onsite
- Ensuring access to driveways is maintained.
