No. 80: Tinks Lane, Tomingley
We are upgrading level crossings between Parkes and Narromine as part of our work to build Inland Rail. While we do this, we need to temporarily close public roads.
Tinks Lane, Tomingley, will be closed from Wednesday 8 January 2020 until mid-April 2020.
Location of works
Tinks Lane, Tomingley, between Peak Hill Railway Road and Tomingley–Narromine road.
Road detour will be via Peak Hill Railway Road, Wyanga Road and the Newell Highway.
What we’re doing
- Removing existing rail and sleepers
- Installing drainage and culverts
- Building road formations and new plate over rail
- Constructing level crossing (concrete treatment)
- Installing new gravel (ballast), tamp (adjust) rail into place
- Installing permanent signage and fencing
- Laying new rail and sleepers
- Welding rail into place
What to expect
- During the work there will be heavy vehicles travelling to and from the work sites.
- Traffic management with detour signage will be in place to assist those impacted by the road closure.
