No. 81: Fairview Siding Road, Narromine, temporary closure
We are upgrading level crossings between Parkes and Narromine as part of our work to build Inland Rail.
While we do this, we need to temporarily close public roads.
Fairview Siding Road, Narromine, will be closed from Wednesday 8 January 2020 until mid-April 2020 and the detour will be via Tomingley-Narromine Road, Wyanga Road and Peak Hill Railway Road.

What we’re doing
- Removing existing rail and sleepers
- Installing drainage and culverts
- Building road formations and new plate over rail
- Constructing level crossing (concrete treatment)
- Installing new gravel (ballast), tamp (adjust) rail into place
- Install permanent signage and fencing
- Laying new rail and sleepers
- Welding rail into place
What to expect
During the work there will be heavy vehicles travelling to and from the work sites.
Traffic management with detour signage will be in place to assist those impacted by the road closure.
