North East Rail Line powerline works
From 8 to 31 March 2023, our contractor McConnell Dowell will replace or extend some power poles and cables to create the required clearance to enable the safe running of double-stacked freight trains.
Work being done
To enable the safe running of double-stacked freight trains more height clearance between the rail and powerlines is required in some locations along the North East Rail Line at Kilmore East, Broadford and Tallarook.
To achieve this, McConnell Dowell will replace or extend some power poles and cables to create the required clearance.
