Successful Broadford community drop-in events

The Broadford community has shown they are keen to talk with our ARTC team about Inland Rail in Victoria.

The Inland Rail Engagement Team at Broadford in November 2022.

In Broadford there are three sites that do not have the required clearance for double-stacked freight trains to pass safely.

To increase the clearance, we have confirmed bridge replacements for Short Street, Hamilton Street and Marchbanks Road.

We’ve been working hard to keep the community informed and during November and December held successful drop-in sessions at Country Soul Café and the Broadford Living and Learning Centre. We also door-knocked our nearest neighbours to the project sites and sent more than 2000 letters to local residents and businesses.

We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to meet with us and find out about this exciting project.

During our conversations with community, we have clearly heard concerns around bridge closures during construction, and we continue to commit to maintaining access.

In 2023, we invite the community to join us at the Broadford Australia Day Festival on 26 January.
