What can I expect?
- Heavy vehicle movements, earth-moving activities, track works.
- Some of these works will be noisy. You may hear truck engines and engine noise from machines.
- Roads may be under traffic control during possession hours.
- Unfortunately, some construction activities are inherently noisy which cannot be avoided. Properties near the construction site can expect to hear:
- excavation (activity involving the removal of existing surfaces such as rock, soil, pavement, and other substances
- movements of heavy vehicles
- loading, unloading or moving equipment and construction materials.
Vehicle movements
During the works, vehicle movements will be to and from site as well as on site to facilitate earthworks.
Both sites will also be accepting deliveries during site establishment.
Traffic controllers will be available to direct traffic to and from site where needed.
Machinery used
Equipment used for work includes but is not limited to hand tools including power saws, excavators, loaders, graders, rollers, moxy trucks, truck and dogs, vibrating rollers, track tampers, track regulators, back hoes, cranes, vacuum trucks heavy and light vehicles, generators, lighting towers and other minor plant.
How we're managing impacts
- Traffic controls will be in place, where required.
- Water carts will be on-site to wet down areas to assist in managing dust.
- Use of non-tonal reversing alarms on all equipment and turning off equipment when not in use.
- Instructing workers to keep noise to a minimum and being respectful of our neighbours.
- Works will be monitored to ensure compliance with Project Approval Conditions.
