Temporary footpath closure, Beaconsfield Parade
Between November 2023 to February 2024, our contractors McConnell Dowell will continue to undertake works for the new Beaconsfield Parade bridge in Glenrowan.
Work being done
Construction of the new Beaconsfield Parade bridge will continue until early 2024.
Works include building the retaining walls and road structure onto Beaconsfield Parade.
This requires the ongoing closure of the Beaconsfield Parade footpath between Church and Siege streets to ensure public safety.
This footpath will remain closed until the completion of works.
A pedestrian detour will remain in place while the works are carried out, utilising the existing pathway nearby.
What can I expect
- no access to the footpath between Church Street and Siege Street, with a pedestrian detour in place
- traffic management and reduced speeds will be in place during some works, which may cause traffic delays
- ground excavation at various locations
- trucks and other vehicles entering and exiting the construction site
- construction noise during the day
- heavy machinery and equipment operating onsite.
Machinery used
- excavators,
- cranes,
- rollers,
- trucks and
- light vehicles
will be used within the work area
How we’re managing impacts
- traffic management will be in place to ensure safe access for all pedestrians and road users where required
- works completed in stages to reduce the area of impacted road and walkways
- temporary pedestrian lights and detour signage will be in place.
