Traffic has shifted ono the new Short Street bridge in single-lane shuttle flow, while the existing bridge is prepared for demolition during a three-day rail shutdown at the end of February.

At Hamilton Street, works on the new roundabout at Hamilton and Ferguson streets are underway, with traffic changes in place.

Vehicles will move from the shared user path currently carrying traffic to the new Hamilton Street bridge also under single-lane shuttle flow. These traffic changes are expected in March/April.

2025 was a big year for bridge works in Broadford, with the new Short Street bridge and final beams of the new Hamilton Street bridge installed in October.

This year will see both new bridges opened to full operation and replacement of Marchbanks Road bridge.

These works are required to enable sufficient clearance for double-stacked freight trains to use the rail line.
