Out-of-hours work, Junee to Illabo 3 – 5 May 2025
Inland Rail contractors will undertake track and related works within the rail corridor between Junee to Illabo during an extended track possession.
Work being done
Round-the-clock works include:
- Delivery of materials and equipment to sites
- Drainage works including culvert replacements
- Track related and Excavation works
Temporary traffic changes near you
- During the works, vehicle movements will be to and from site as well as on site to facilitate earthworks.
- Both sites will also be accepting deliveries both during and prior to the possession.
- Traffic controllers will be available to direct traffic to and from site where needed.
What can I expect?
- Reduced speed limits of 40km/h near work areas, where required
- Delivery of materials and equipment to site
- Construction machinery and equipment operating on site
- Nearby residents may hear some noise and notice vibration during this time. Unfortunately, some construction activities are inherently noisy which cannot be avoided.
- Additional construction vehicles and workers can also be expected in the area.
At the completion of possession
Construction will return to our standard working hours:
- 7am–6pm Monday to Friday
- 8am–6pm Saturday
No work scheduled on Sunday or Public Holidays.

- Use of non-tonal reversing alarms on all equipment and turning off equipment when not in use.
- Instructing workers to keep noise to a minimum and being respectful of our neighbours.
- Works will be monitored to ensure compliance with Project Approval Conditions.
Cancellation of works
Works can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled.
