Detour route works and site investigations, Euroa, March 2025
Site investigations and works to upgrade the detour route ahead of the Anderson Street bridge closure later this year, will be undertaken in Euroa during March.
Work being done
- Road and level crossing upgrades to the detour route to support safe traffic movement
- Survey and investigations to determine underground conditions at various locations
- Construction site fencing within the railway precinct.
Detour route upgrades
Works will be undertaken in stages to minimise the impacts to residents and road users.
The following works will be undertaken along sections of Birkett, Brock, Campbell and Anderson streets, Euroa, including the level crossing in Birkett Street:
- Road widening, asphalting and line marking
- Drainage works
- Service protection works
- Approved tree and vegetation removal
- Signage and barrier installation
- Minor footpath upgrades
- Street lighting installation and relocation
- Relocation of cables and signalling infrastructure
- Relocation of some water and power utilities near the Birkett Street level crossing.
What can I expect?
- Works 7am-6pm Monday to Friday and 7am-1pm Saturdays
- Round-the-clock works between 6am Saturday 22 March and 6pm Monday 24 March at the Birkett Street level crossing (including night works)
- Road closures along Birkett, Brock and Campbell streets during works with traffic management in place. Please observe all instructions.
- Additional truck movements where works are occurring
- Interruptions to property services will be notified by the service provider
- Workers using machinery, equipment, hand tools and service vehicles
- Nearby residents may experience some noise and vibration and notice additional construction workers and vehicles in the area
- John Holland will engage directly with impacted residents to discuss any property access interruptions.
Machinery used
Non-destructive digging truck, crane, excavators, trucks, earthmoving plant, compaction roller, tamper, hi-rail plant, concrete trucks, workers using hand tools /survey equipment, traffic management equipment / signage.
Cancellation of works
Works can be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, works will be rescheduled.
