Work being done

Geotechnical investigations help us understand ground conditions and assist in refining designs.

Activities will include land surveys, soil and rock fragment sampling. These investigations will involve digging test pits and/or drilling boreholes, with collected samples sent for lab testing.

Investigations will occur between 7am and 6pm Monday to Saturday, and every second Sunday.

Associated low impact activities, such as machinery re-fuelling, managing environmental controls and traffic control may occur outside of these hours.

What can I expect?

• changed traffic conditions and reduced speed limits where work is near public roads
• site supervision vehicles, mobile machinery, drill rigs and equipment operating onsite or accessing work sites
• increased site and support vehicle movements
• nearby residents may experience some daytime noise at locations where activities such as drilling and test excavations will disturb the ground surface, bore holes and test pits will be backfilled at the completion of work or at the end of each shift.

• track mounted drill rigs,
• non-destructive digging machinery,
• small digging equipment,
• support vehicles,
• traffic management equipment and signage.

How we're managing impacts

• Traffic control will be in place
• Access to private properties will not be impacted.

Cancellation of works

Investigations can sometimes be cancelled at short notice depending on weather and other factors. Should this occur, they will be rescheduled and nearby residents will be notified in advance.
