What can I expect?

  • Heavy vehicle movements, earth-moving activities, track works
  • Some of these works will be noisy. You may hear truck engines and engine noise from machines.
  • Use of non-tonal reversing alarms on all equipment and turning off equipment when not in use.
  • Instructing workers to keep noise to a minimum and being respectful of our neighbours.

Machinery used

Equipment used for work includes but is not limited to; hydrema, front end loaders, excavators, tandem trucks, flatbed trucks, rail deliveries including loco, generators, hand tools, flash welding, ballast tamper & regulator, moxy trucks and lighting towers.

Vehicle Movements

During the works, vehicle movements will be to and from site as well as on site to facilitate earthworks.

Traffic controllers will be available to direct traffic to and from site where needed.

How we're managing impacts

  • Traffic controls will be in place, where required.
  • Water carts will be on-site to wet down areas to assist in managing dust.
  • Works programmed to best minimise noise impacts. We will aim to minimise noise from the works.
  • Unfortunately, some construction activities are inherently noisy which cannot be avoided. Properties near the construction site can expect to hear:
    • excavation (activity involving the removal of existing surfaces such as rock, soil, pavement, and other substances
    • movements of heavy vehicles
    • loading, unloading or moving equipment and construction materials
