Join the Inland Rail Program and play a pivotal role in one of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects. 

As a Senior Contract Administrator, you will be supporting the daily administration of the B2A T2 Contract. You’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager and Project Delivery Team, assisting with contractual matters, budgets, valuations, and correspondence for construction and ancillary contracts. This is a pivotal role ensuring compliance with contract administration systems, processes, and procedures.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Undertake contract administration duties, including progress claim verification, payment certificates, and processing claims.
  • Prepare commercially sound contract documents using approved templates, minimising risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Support contract establishment and control mechanisms, interfacing with Finance and other business units.
  • Monitor contracts and contractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Process variations, disputes, and progress claims; liaise with Legal Counsel as needed.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation, registers, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Assist with risk identification and mitigation processes.
  • Manage contract securities, levies, and insurances in line with requirements.
  • Prepare high-quality contractual correspondence and meeting documentation.
  • Support monthly reporting, accruals, forecasting, and compliance tracking.
  • Ensure authorisations are obtained for all contract forms and transactions.
  • Uphold probity, ethical standards, and compliance with all Inland Rail policies and procedures.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across the organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful, and discrimination-free workplace.

About you

To succeed in this role you will need exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities to effectively manage stakeholder relationships, influence key decisions, and deliver strategic outcomes.

Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in construction, quantity surveying, law, engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar contract administration role within a major infrastructure project.
  • Strong understanding of contract law and administration of construction agreements.
  • Experience with purchasing, contracts, or finance systems in large construction environment.
  • Exposure to civil construction design packages and various contract/procurement frameworks.
  • Ability to manage contractors and suppliers against performance criteria.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and contract management systems.
  • Understanding of relevant State Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Acts.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and probity.

Desirable Criteria

  • Familiarity with cost control software (e.g. PRISM).
  • Experience with Document Management Systems (e.g. Aconex).
  • Knowledge of Incentivised Target Cost (ITC) contracts and collaborative contracting frameworks.
