About the opportunity

The Stakeholder Engagement Advisor will deliver high‑quality stakeholder engagement planning, delivery, reporting and support across all project workstreams. This role is hands‑on, diverse, and ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating engagement activities, and supporting project teams to deliver best‑practice communication.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited: 

  • Develop and implement engagement plans
  • Coordinate and deliver community engagement events (venues, logistics, collateral, website updates, design, printing)
  • Draft content for newsletters, e‑news, fact sheets, posters, advertising, media releases, briefing notes, social media and website updates
  • Deliver project presentations to community groups
  • Plan, coordinate, attend and report on engagement activities
  • Manage enquiries and complaints, including use of digital mapping tools
  • Support community events, information sessions and Community Consultative Committees
  • Facilitate contractor inductions and support land access/engagement protocols
  • Maintain accurate data and records in Consultation Manager
  • Support landowner meetings and assist with land access approvals and property acquisition processes
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

This opportunity will be based in Goondiwindi, Narrabri or Narromine. Inland Rail will assist with relocation costs if required. 

About you

You will possess experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholder groups within complex and politically sensitive project environments. You should bring strong problem solving capability along with with the ability to assess competing priorities, navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

Additionally you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or similar
  • Strong stakeholder and community engagement experience (infrastructure, transport or logistics experience ideal)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality plans, reports and communications
  • Strong digital capability across engagement tools and platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint in particular) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms and e‑news tools
  • Drivers Licence C Class
