No stopping Emily on her path to success
Working on a big infrastructure project like Inland Rail may seem daunting, but for Avenel local Emily Tubecki it is a dream come true.

Emily Tubecki is working on Inland Rail in Euroa.
At just 20, Emily is following in her father’s footsteps to realise her dream of working in the construction industry.
Already holding a number of industry tickets, Emily was recently placed by OCC Services in a traffic management role with John Holland, our construction partner on the Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 section.
“I’m working in Euroa. These opportunities aren’t always available in regional areas … so when I saw the chance to work on Inland Rail I just jumped at it,” she said.
“I have been here for four months and everyone is so friendly, there is a lot of support, it’s a really great team.
“I love what I am doing but I also want to get more construction tickets, do more courses and take any opportunities that come my way.”
Emily already holds tickets covering traffic control and machinery operations including skid steer loader, excavator and roller.
Inland Rail is committed to local employment and since construction started in Victoria in 2022, more than 2,000 local residents have worked on the project including around 300 women.
Emily’s advice to others thinking of working on large infrastructure projects: “Just give it a go. Opportunities like Inland Rail don’t come along every day.”
