Inland Rail’s construction partner John Holland is undertaking works to upgrade the Euroa and Benalla station precincts for double-stacked freight trains.
During these works, transport arrangements, station parking and pedestrian access at Euroa Station and Benalla Station will undergo significant changes.
V/Line coach replacement services
When trains are not stopping at Euroa and Benalla stations, V/Line coach replacement services will be provided, and temporary timetables will be in place.
V/Line passengers can still purchase tickets at Benalla Station, vline.com.au, at the nearest ticket agent or by calling 1800 800 007.

Changes at Euroa station

Trains are not stopping at Euroa Station. Coaches will replace trains until the new carpark and platform open on the Railway Street side of the station on 31 August 2026.
The Railway Street bus stop has been relocated to McGuinness Street for both V/Line and Transport Victoria services.
The Railway Street carpark is closed, with public parking available at the Euroa Hotel carpark, off McGuinness Street.
Temporary pedestrian access across the rail line is via the Frost Street drainage infrastructure or Charles Street pedestrian crossing.
Timing: from 31 August
Passenger train services will resume in Euroa with trains arriving and departing from the new platform on the Railway Street side of the station.
The new platform will be safer and more accessible with security upgrades, lighting and improved access to the new Railway Street carpark.
Opening at the same time, the new car park provides direct access and a shorter walk to the platform.
It will include 50 defined parking spaces and two designated disability-compliant carparks. There are also four kiss-and-ride spaces for quick and safe drop-off near the station.
Coaches will use the new Railway Street bus stop located at the station precinct.
Temporary pedestrian access across the rail line is via the Frost Street drainage infrastructure or Charles Street pedestrian crossing.
Changes at Benalla station

Trains are not stopping at Benalla Station. Coaches will replace trains until the new platform and temporary facilities including V/Line ticketing, and carpark open on the Railway Place side of the station on 31 August 2026.
Passengers will use the Mackellar Street bus stop and park along Carrier Street.
The station carpark and access road is closed. Pedestrian access to the station from Mackellar Street will be maintained.
Timing: from 31 August
Passenger train services will resume in Benalla with trains arriving and departing from the new platform on the Railway Place side of the station.
The station building and existing platform off Mackellar Street will be closed.
Temporary V/Line ticketing, car parking and coach facilities will be available, with the platform accessible through the new pedestrian underpass from Railway Place.
These temporary changes will be in place until the Benalla Station reopens at the end of the year.
Pedestrian access across the rail line will be via the Nunn Street level crossing.
