Due to its scale and complexity, the Narrabri to North Star project is broken into two phases to enable the first phase of construction to begin while planning and environmental approvals are gained for the second phase.

Phase 1: Narrabri North to North Star

Phase 1 includes upgrading 176km of track along the existing rail corridor.

Phase 2: Moree to Camurra

Phase 2 includes upgrading approximately 13km of track crossing the Gwydir floodplain and building approximately 2km of new track at Camurra, north of Moree.

In our final update for 2024 we bring you the latest news on our progress towards gaining environmental approvals, celebrate this year’s achievements and preview what’s coming up in 2025. Operational noise at-property treatment installations kick off

Last month, we started installing at-property noise mitigation treatments at residences along the Narrabri to North Star Phase 1 section. At time of writing, we finished work at 10 of 40 properties identified as requiring treatment.
