About the opportunity

Join one of Australia’s most transformative infrastructure projects. Inland Rail is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the delivery of the Beveridge to Albury (B2A) Tranche 2 works. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant rail program that will reshape freight movement across the country.

About the opportunity:

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of site construction and completions. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure the project meets its scope, cost, time, safety, and quality objectives.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Support implementation of the Project Management Plan and delivery strategy.
  • Review engineering solutions and drawings across rail, stations, roads, and structures.
  • Monitor contractor performance through site inspections and reviews.
  • Contribute to project scheduling, risk management, cost control, and quality assurance.
  • Manage completions in a timely manner
  • Lead change management across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with community and agency stakeholders at events and consultations.
  • Promote safety compliance and proactive safety interactions on site.
  • Ensure coordination with ARTC and VLine networks to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Uphold Inland Rail’s CARE values and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

About you

To succeed in this role you need be a proactive, solutions-focused engineer who thrives in complex infrastructure environments. You bring strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills to every challenge.

Additionally, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary rail environments.
  • Experience in design and construction projects.
  • Experience with utility relocations, station and bridge construction, and project completions.
  • Familiarity with ARTC, V/Line, and AustRoads Engineering Standards.
  • Rail Infrastructure Worker (RIW) competency.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Class C or higher Driver’s Licence.
