Greater Hume
Inland Rail is a 1600km freight rail line connecting Melbourne and Brisbane that will transform how goods are moved around Australia.
We’re upgrading 185km of existing rail track between Albury and Illabo at 24 sites, including three within the Greater Hume LGA, to allow double-stacked freight trains to pass safely and ensure everyday products can be delivered faster and more reliably.
Culcairn yard and footbridge

The Culcairn footbridge will be removed to allow for double-stacked freight trains.
The Main Line will be slewed to allow for horizontal clearance for double-stacked trains.
Henty yard

The main line will be slewed to allow for horizontal clearance for double stacked trains including modifications to the level crossing and pedestrian crossing.
An existing steel signal gantry will also be modified to allow for vertical clearance for double stacked trains.
